MITOSIS
VISIGOTH SHIPS
(MR6.1) VISIGOTH HEAVY CRUISER (CA)
When the Visigoth Heavy Cruiser was first encountered by the empires of Mitosis, they concluded that the Visigoth could not be defeated. However, time and the development of new tactics, proved this statement to be quite untrue. The Visigoth Heavy Cruiser could indeed be beaten in combat, if the appropriate countermeasures were taken to nullify the strange technology employed by the Visigoth.
The Visigoth utilized a device which affected the fabric of space itself. When activated, this device could transport the Visigoth Heavy Cruiser a considerable distance in the blink of an eye, without having to travel the distance in-between. However, the device was not perfect; under the right circumstances, it could fail in its function, leaving the Visigoth starship either in the same location or transported to some other random location.
The Visigoth Heavy Cruiser was a fast and highly maneuverable starship. Basic Visigoth tactics called for the Visigoth to use its device to transport right next to the target ship’s weakest shields and then launch an alpha strike. Experienced Visigoth Captains knew that this strategy would typically result in trading one maximum blow for another, which ultimately did not guarantee a Visigoth victory.
For this reason, seasoned Visigoth Captains relied on Hit-and-Run tactics, taking their time to strike the enemy over and over, and using their device each time to escape out of reach. Visigoth Captains knew that the key to victory was patience. Their unique device ensured that time was on their side. The longer the battle was drawn out, the more the enemy’s shields would be worn down by the Visigoth’s rapid firing phaser array.
DISPLACEMENT DEVICE
The Displacement Device can be used for Self-Displacement Only. The Displacement Device Feedback Phenomenon under (G18.8) does not apply to the Visigoth.
