GALLIA SHIPS
(MR3.1) GALLIA HEAVY CRUISER (CA)
The Gallia Heavy Cruiser was a worthy adversary for both the Brittani Heavy Cruiser and the Hispania Heavy Cruiser. Whereas the Brittani Heavy Cruiser and the Hispania Heavy Cruiser focused on direct-fire weapons, the Gallia Heavy Cruiser introduced a new tactical element: deadly seeking weapons of great power. Brittani and Hispania Captains found themselves facing an opponent who, at close range, could generate far more damage in a single instant than their own ships could.
Success in battle with the Gallia Heavy Cruiser was quite different from either the Brittani or the Hispania. Of critical importance were the pseudo torpedoes employed by the Gallia Heavy Cruiser to fool enemy vessels into wasting phaser fire. Gallia Captains also had to deal with different levels of power management due to the longer arming requirements of their seeking weapons, as well as the inherent energy dissipation that occurred the further the weapons traveled. Additionally, Gallia Captains dealt with different firing arcs for their heavy weapons, whose concentration of fire was explicitly to the sides as opposed to the oblique angles utilized by both the Brittani and the Hispania.
Lastly, the Gallia Heavy Cruiser was well known for its large abundance of shuttles. The underestimation of this advantage has led to the defeat of countless Captains who dared to face the Gallia Heavy Cruiser in combat. Experienced Gallia Captains utilized these shuttles to their fullest potential, whether that function was for Wild Weasels, Suicide Shuttles, or simply to gain additional Phaser Fire at a critical moment in battle.
